Jesus said, “My house will be a house of prayer" in Luke 19:46. God intends for prayer to be prominent feature in his people as they pursue the mission of spreading the gospel.

Ready for a spiritual treasure hunt? Two words open up a treasure chest of spiritual power that remains with you. The two words?

"In Christ".

These words, and the power behind them, sustained the Lord's people all during centuries of persecution and hardship.

One of the most wonderful riches in Christ is found in his Name. Like a treasure chest containing an assortment of stunning valuables, Christ's unsearchable riches contain this glorious one - the authority believers have to operate in the most powerful name ever seen.

In this episode, we follow Peter and John as they use the power of Christ's name to change the world.

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 NIV)

Some riches are so valuable that they stand out when compared to all others, like the pearl of great price in Matthew chapter thirteen.

Among God's unsearchable riches the power of "his great love for us" stands out and qualifies as the root of all spiritual blessings.

Jesus is approachable.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (Matthew 11:28-29 NIV)

The Son of God walked this earth as a man and "he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!" (Philippians 2:8 NIV)

Christ's humility proves that God loves us. Let that sink in. God's love is real, complete, powerful, and available. Meditating on God's love will heal you, it will change everything.

Listen and you'll see.

You can see one of the most powerful 'riches of Christ' pictured in Colossians 1:27... "God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."

What does that glory look like? You can see it in the transfiguration of Jesus. He took Peter, John, and James with him up a mountain to pray. Then it happened, "As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus." (Luke 9:28-36 NIV)

You can also see it in Matthew 17:2 and Revelation 2:12-20.

And that glory is ours, too. Through Christ in you the hope of glory. Listen and learn about by your amazing destiny as a disciple of Christ.

 

"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: 'Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree'". (Galatians 3:13 NIV)

Not only have believers been redeemed by Christ's work, but also ransomed (Hebrews 9:15), rescued (Colossians 1:13), and reconciled (Colossians 1:21-23). These are only a few of the "unsearchable riches" that Christ earned for us. There are more.

When we grasp the scope of what Christ has done, freedom manifests itself in us...

"Christ has set us free! This means we are really free. Now hold on to your freedom and don't ever become slaves of the Law again." (Galatians 5:1 Contemporary English Version)

Paul the apostle summed up his mission this way: "To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ..." (Ephesians 3:8 NKJV)

And he wrote about these riches to the Colossian church: To them (the Gentiles) God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Col. 1:27 NIV)

These glorious riches have a solid foundation... "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us..." (Galatians 3:13 NIV)

That "curse of the law" was a hopeless existence which became a hell on earth for those caught in its grip. (Deuteronomy 28:15-68)
