Finding Super-Abundant Life -10 "Fear Not, Little Flock"

Jesus said "Fear not, little flock" because the super abundant life he came to give us often shuts down due to anxiety / worry (Luke 12:32).

He commanded his disciples not to worry, and said worried disciples are "you of little faith" - or literally "little-faith ones" (Luke 12:28). Worry corrodes faith. 

So, Jesus sternly warned his disciples about worry and taught us how to cancel the anxiety in Luke 12: 22-14.

Listen and gain some insights into how worry works and how we can overcome it. You'll hear several passages in the Bible about how to have victory over the distracting anxiety that often comes. 

 

Finding Super-Abundant Life -9 "God Wants You To Know Him"

The super-abundant life Jesus mentioned in John 10:10 is the same eternal life he prayed for us to have in John 17:3. He also said this eternal life is "that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."

So, this abundant, eternal life is to know God personally. Face to face. But how is that possible for us mere mortals? 

Jesus gave us the answer, "If you really know me, you will know my Father as well." (John 14:7 NIV)

Finding Super-Abundant Life -8 "The Glory of Christ in Us"

Christ came to give us super-abundant life, the life of God in us. 

"To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." (Colossians 1:27 NIV)

In this session we look at several scriptures which reveal the amazing truth of God placing His life inside those who believe on Christ.

Finding Super-Abundant Life -7 "Our Man in Heaven"

The super abundant life Jesus promised to give us came at a high price. He bought and paid for it. We can't earn it, so he did.

Since he did, he's now our man in heaven who administers this glorious life... our "great high priest" that we see in Hebrews 4:14-16.

A human being is now in the Godhead at the Father's throne in Heaven and is constantly interceding for us!

Finding Super-Abundant Life -6 "Finding Eternal Life"

The Super-Abundant Life that Christ brings includes something called 'eternal life'. What is that?

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life."-Jesus (John 5:24 NIV)

Finding Super-Abundant Life -5 "Flesh and Spirit"

The key to finding this super abundant life is the understanding of flesh vs spirit.

Jesus said, "God is Spirit" (John 4:24). Since we're made in God's image, we're also spirit.

But living inside the flesh body challenges our spirits for supremacy. The flesh wants to rule. But so does the spirit in the born-again believer. Learning to master this conflict (with the Holy Spirit's help) is the key to the super abundant life.

Finding Super-Abundant Life -4 "Come Near To God"

Jesus promised super-abundant life to his followers (John 10:10). And that super-abundant life literally experiences God.

Getting a revelation of the Father's love causes you to come near to God, which creates trust, faith, and introduces you to an abundant life that pleases Him.

Finding Super-Abundant Life -3 "The Spirit of Adoption"

How does the Holy Spirit help believers live the super-abundant life that Jesus spoke about in John 10:10? 

Christ said he would not leave his disciples here as orphans, but he would come to help us - through the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-18).

With that 'spirit of adoption' (Romans 8:15), we have supernatural help while we live this super-abundant life in a broken world.

Finding Super Abundant Life-2 "The Believer &The Holy Spirit"

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:10 NKJV)

The Holy Spirit is the source of this Super Abundant Life:

"Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. By this he meant the Spirit..." (John 7:38-39 NIV)

Finding Super-Abundant Life

Sometimes churches become like wax museums. They look alive, but there's no heartbeat, no real life inside the form.

It's possible for a person to accept Christ as Lord, even be baptized in water, but not have the Holy Spirit present in their life (see Acts 8:16). They don't exhibit the super abundant life that Jesus came to give us (John 10:10).
